Kommunalwahl: Zulassung, Änderung und Rücknahme des Kommunalwahlvorschlags beantragen

Nominations for the municipal elections may be amended up to the deadline for submission. Election proposals may be withdrawn until they are approved. The responsible election committee decides on the approval of the nominations.

The responsible election committee (municipal election committee or district election committee) decides on the approval of the election proposals in a public meeting on the 52nd day before the election at the latest. The representatives of the nominations must be invited to the meeting and given the opportunity to comment before the election committee makes its decision.

The election committee examines the nominations and the documents submitted with them. However, facts that are reliably known to the election committee or that are obvious may be taken into account by it.

The election committee rejects election proposals that are received late or otherwise do not comply with the legal provisions.
A nomination may be amended until the deadline for submission (4 p.m. on the 75th day before the election).

After the end of the 73rd day before the election, only defects in valid election proposals can be rectified. An election proposal is only valid if it

1. bears the signatures required under Section 16 (7) LKWG M-V and
2. clearly identifies the candidate nominee and the person of the nominated candidates and
3. contains a copy of the minutes pursuant to section 16 paragraph 5 LKWG M-V and the consent pursuant to section 16 paragraph 3 LKWG M-V as well as the affidavits required pursuant to section 16 paragraph 4 LKWG M-V.

An election proposal may be withdrawn as long as no decision has been made on its approval. After the decision on the approval of an election proposal, any amendment is excluded. Any amendment or withdrawal requires concurring declarations by the representatives.

These declarations must be submitted in writing to the competent electoral administration (municipal or district electoral administration) and cannot be revoked.

Local elections in accordance with the State and Local Elections Act (LKWG M-V) include

• district administrator elections
• mayoral elections
• district council elections
• Municipal council elections.

If a municipal or district electoral committee rejects an election proposal in whole or in part, any representative of the rejected election proposal and the election management responsible for the election may lodge a complaint by 6 p.m. on the 45th day before the election.

Municipal or district election management

In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the municipal election committees and district election committees are responsible for approving election proposals.
The representatives of the nominations are responsible for amendments and withdrawals.
