Anyone wishing to keep bees must notify the competent authority no later than the start of the activity, stating the number of colonies and their location.

For the services rendered within the scope of notification and registration, the competent authority shall charge fees in accordance with the Veterinary Administration Costs Ordinance. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the fees amount to EUR 15.00 in accordance with fee item 1.7.25 of the Veterinary Administration Costs Ordinance.

The beekeeper must notify the competent authority of the number of bee colonies and their location at the latest at the beginning of the keeping. Processing usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
