Medicines are often needed outside normal business hours, for example at night or on Sundays and public holidays. In principle, all pharmacies are obliged to participate in the emergency service in order to ensure the supply of medicines to the population 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Pharmacists provides an information service for locating pharmacies on duty. You can also call the free* hotline 0800-00 22833 to find the nearest pharmacy on emergency duty. The pharmacies on emergency duty are also published in the local press.

If you have received a prescription from your doctor, please remember to take it with you.
Otherwise, you do not need any other documents.

In principle, there are no charges, but pharmacies may charge an additional EUR 2.50 if they are used between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., on Sundays and public holidays, and on December 24, if this day falls on a working day, until 6:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. onwards.
