Fahrerlaubnis: der Klassen B und BE für begleitetes Fahren ab 17 Jahre erhalten

If you take part in "accompanied driving from 17", you can drive a vehicle of categories B and BE in Germany before your 18th birthday under certain conditions. In this case, you must always be accompanied by a previously appointed and suitable person.

In Germany, you can drive a vehicle in categories B and BE (passenger cars) at the age of 17 if

• you have passed the driving test and
• you are accompanied by an authorized and previously named person.

On the date of your 18th birthday, you may drive the vehicle unaccompanied.

However, if you drive a vehicle before your 18th birthday without being accompanied by a named person, your driving license will be revoked.

In addition

• a fine,
• a point on the driving aptitude register,
• the extension of the probationary period and
• an order for an advanced training seminar.

• valid identity card or passport (identity document can also be an electronic residence permit (eAT) or similar)
• current registration certificate, if applicable

• Proof of first aid training
• Eye test certificate (not older than 2 years)
• Application form for participation in accompanied driving from the age of 17
• Application form for each accompanying person

for applicants:

• Minimum age 17 years
• Ordinary residence in the Federal Republic of Germany
• Aptitude for driving motor vehicles
• Completion of training to drive motor vehicles
• Successful completion of the driving test
• Knowledge of first aid

for accompanying persons:

• Completion of the 30th year of age
• Possession of a category B driving license for at least five years
• No more than one point on the driving aptitude register (previously: central traffic register) at the time of application.

• The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).
• If the driver's license is sent directly to your home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.

The application must be submitted in writing or in electronic form.

An application may be submitted at the earliest six months before the age of 17.

If a BF 17 participant drives a motor vehicle without being accompanied by a named person, the driving license must be revoked. In addition, there is a fine, a point in the driving aptitude register, an extension of the probationary period and an order for an advanced training seminar.

• By participating in "accompanied driving from 17", the minimum age for obtaining a category B and BE driving license is lowered to 17.
• If a person takes part in "accompanied driving from 17" and passes the driving test, they first receive a test certificate.
• With the test certificate, the person may drive a vehicle of categories B and BE in Germany before their 18th birthday accompanied by a named and authorized person.
