Benefits from the long-term care insurance fund for people with disabilities in inpatient facilities or special forms of housing.

If you are a person with a disability (care level 2 to 5) and live in a fully inpatient facility in which

• the participation in working life,
• education
• the social participation,
• school education or
• education of people with disabilities

are in the foreground?

If so, the long-term care insurance fund will cover 15 percent of the costs.

The expenses of the long-term care insurance fund may not exceed 266 euros per calendar month in an individual case.

This also applies to special forms of living (several persons with disabilities together in a residential home/group of homes). In this case

• the focus must be on living together and integration into society,
• the Housing and Care Act applies,
• the scope of care must largely correspond to care in a fully inpatient facility.

If you claim pro rata care allowance for the days on which you are cared for and looked after at home, the days of arrival and departure are regarded as full days of care at home.

Ask your long-term care insurance company what documents are required and whether there is a special application form.

• Persons in need of care are accommodated in a fully inpatient facility for persons with disabilities

or

• live in a special form of housing

• Only applies to persons in need of care with care level 2 to 5

The application is free of charge.

The benefit must be applied for in writing to the long-term care insurance fund

The processing time of the application depends on different conditions.

For people with disabilities who

• live in a fully inpatient facility in which

- the participation in working life,

- participation in education

- social participation

- school education or the education are in the foreground,

or

- in a special form of living (residential home/residential group for persons with disabilities), in which

- the purpose of living and

- integration into society

are in the foreground,

the long-term care insurance fund pays 15 percent of the agreed remuneration, but not more than 266 euros per month.
