Health insurance companies provide disease prevention services for mothers and fathers.

As measures for the prevention of illnesses, health insurance companies offer spa stays. These include

• Mother-child cures (measure)
• Father-child cures (measure)

Children can either go along for their own treatment or (usually up to the age of 12) as an accompanying person.

As a rule, the health insurance companies select a suitable spa clinic, but take individual wishes into account.

A cure lasts three weeks. You do not have to submit a leave of absence to your employer for this time. The approval is valid like a certificate of incapacity for work.

The required documentation is prepared by the attending physician.

For mothers and fathers:

• Their health is severely weakened. This condition could likely lead to illness in the foreseeable future.
• an illness that has already occurred is not expected to worsen
• need for care is imminent

For bringing children:

• You are the legal guardian
• The child/children also have a health risk or illness.
• The child/children cannot be cared for in any other way.

The child/children are still too young to be separated from the parent.

Insured persons aged 18 and over make a co-payment of 10 euros per day.

You coordinate with your family doctor and fill out the health insurance application form together. This is submitted to the health insurance company for approval.
