As a late repatriate, you are entitled to a recognition procedure for your educational qualifications. This involves checking whether your qualification is comparable with a German qualification.
You can have both school and university degrees and vocational qualifications recognized.
You can have your vocational qualification compared with any profession that exists or no longer exists in Germany.
As a rule, your professional experience is not taken into account.

The competent body compares your degree obtained abroad with the German reference degree. If this comparison does not reveal any significant differences, you will be certified as having full equivalence.

can compensate for the differences found.
"Regulated" means that you need recognition of your professional qualifications in order to practice the profession or use the professional title.
In those professions for which you do not necessarily need recognition (non-regulated), you will receive a notice detailing the differences found. With this, you can apply directly to employers or choose an individually suitable continuing education program.
The recognition procedure ends with either a positive or a negative decision.
Partial recognition is not provided for.
Whether a procedure according to the BVFG or the BQFG Mecklenburg-Vorpommern or the professional laws of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is more promising depends on the individual case and the respective relevant regulations.
If a qualification has not been recognized in accordance with the BVFG, it is possible to submit a new application in accordance with the BQFG Mecklenburg-Vorpommern or the professional laws of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
If you have lost certificates of qualification for your profession, they can be reissued.
You can also go through the equivalence procedure under the Federal Qualification Assessment Act (BQFG). This is possible for 600 professions that are regulated by a federal law. You can find out exactly which occupations this applies to on the federal government's website (BQ-Portal).
