You must first notify the Chamber of Engineers of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern of your first activity as an engineer authorized to submit building documents. Upon application, you will be entered in the register of external engineers authorized to submit building documents.

Engineers who are established in another member state of the European Union or in a state with equal status according to the law of the European Community as authorized to submit building documents are authorized to submit building documents without being registered in the"Register of authorized foreign submitters of building documents" if they have a comparable authorization and had to fulfill comparable requirements with regard to the qualifying university degree and the practical professional activity.

They must notify the Chamber of Engineers of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in advance of their first activity as a person authorized to submit building documents from outside the state.

The Chamber of Engineers Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has to confirm upon application that the notification has been made.

The notification is not necessary if a notification has already been made in another state; no further entry is made in the registers kept by the Chamber of Engineers Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

If you have been notified the Chamber of Engineers of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has certified upon application that you meet the prescribed requirements, you will be entered in the register of foreign persons authorized to submit building documents.

The following documents must be enclosed with the notification of the first activity as an engineer authorized to submit building documents:

• Certificate of the country concerned (not older than three months) that the establishment as an engineer authorized to submit building documents is legal and that the activity as an engineer authorized to submit building documents is not prohibited, not even temporarily.
• Proof that in the country of establishment for the activity as an engineer authorized to submit building documents at least the requirements according to § 65 paragraph 3 LBauO M-V had to be fulfilled (professionally qualifying university degree in the field of structural engineering or civil engineering, a subsequent practical activity of at least two years in the field of design planning of buildings).

• Existence of a comparable authorization as a person authorized to submit building documents in the country of establishment.
• Fulfillment of comparable requirements with regard to the professionally qualifying university degree, i.e.
  • a degree in structural engineering or civil engineering and
  • then at least two years of practical experience in the field of building design.

Fee for issuing the certificate: EUR 125.00

Annual fee for the management in the "Verzeichnis der auswärtigen Bauvorlageberechtigten" Ingenieurkammer Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: EUR 50.00

  • the confirmation of the notification as well as
  • the certificate,that you meet the prescribed requirements in accordance with Section 65 (3) of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Building Code.
• If you have applied for the certificate
  • your application will be processed by the registration committee.
  • Itmay benecessary to submit additional documents.
  • With the certificate, the entry is made in the "Register of external persons authorized to submit building documents".
