Who is eligible for funding?
The Chambers of Skilled Crafts and Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are entitled to submit applications to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor, and they forward the "Meister-Extra" to eligible graduates.
As a beneficiary, you must have a qualification in a trade in accordance with Annex A or B 1 of the Crafts Code or in a specialization listed in Annex 1 of the guidelines in order to be able to apply for the "Meister-Extra" grant for the successful completion of further vocational training to become a master craftsman or master craftswoman or master craftsman in industry at the Chamber of Crafts or Chamber of Industry and Commerce responsible for you in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. You can also apply for the "Meister-Extra" grant if you have taken your examination outside the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
What is funded?
The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern supports the successful completion of further vocational training to become a master craftsman or industrial foreman. The aim is to create an incentive for further professional training.
How is funding provided?
The amount of the grant is EUR 2,000.00. In addition, you can be granted a further EUR 3,000.00 if you emerge as the best or best in your trade.
You must observe the cut-off period of six months (complete application documents) for the "Meister-Extra" grant. The written notification of successful completion of the master craftsman examination procedure within the meaning of § 22 of the Master Craftsman Examination Procedure Ordinance in accordance with the Crafts Code or the Vocational Training Act is decisive for the application deadline.
You must provide certified proof that your place of employment and residence have been in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for at least three months at the time the examination result was determined.
If you were unemployed at the time when the results of your advanced training as a master craftsman or industrial foreman were determined, you must prove that your place of residence had been in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for at least three months at the time of the examination results. Furthermore, you must not have received unemployment benefit for further vocational training under the Third Book of the Social Code.
There is no entitlement to the granting of the "Meister-Extra", as the granting authority or office decides on the basis of its due discretion and within the framework of the available budget funds.

Eligible graduates must have a qualification in a trade listed in Annex A or B 1 of the Crafts Code or in a specialty listed in Annex 1 of the Directive.
Written notification of successful completion of the master craftsman examination procedure in accordance with the Master Craftsman Examination Procedure Ordinance must be submitted.
The graduate's place of employment and main place of residence must have been in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for at least three months at the time the examination result is determined. The master craftsman's examination does not have to have been taken in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Unemployment benefit recipients in the case of further vocational training in accordance with the Third Book of the Social Security Code, members of the German Armed Forces, business economists in the skilled trades, technicians and master craftsmen outside the skilled trades and industry (e.g. hotels, gastronomy, horticulture, forestry, agriculture) are excluded from the funding.
Eligible persons must submit a complete, formal application to the local Chamber of Crafts or Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern no later than 6 months (cut-off period) after successfully completing the master craftsman examination procedure.
The same applies to eligible persons who have passed their examination outside the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The processing time at the chambers of trade and industry and commerce in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern depends on the completeness of the applications within the cut-off period.
