Funding for environmental education, training and information measures and for environmental protection-related projects

Object of the grant

• Projects and events that serve environmental education and training, the transfer of knowledge and information, the exchange of knowledge, the promotion of environmental awareness, advice, education and public relations work on environmental issues, including environmentally friendly energy production
• action-oriented environmental education and training in pre-school, school and leisure activities
• artistic forms or their use to pass on environmental information and promote environmental awareness
• Projects in the context of club and association work that have a lasting positive impact on the state of the environment

How is funding provided?

Grants can be awarded up to a maximum of 50 percent of eligible expenditure.

Eligible expenses are

• for the procurement of necessary materials
• to third parties that are necessary to create an environmentally relevant, functional, communicative and technical infrastructure in facilities and their surroundings that serve the purposes of environmental education and training, including initial equipment for facilities
• for project-related rents, leases, insurances
• personal expenses (including fees, travel expenses)
• material administrative expenses (excluding postage, ongoing telephone, fax or internet costs, hospitality, etc.)
• for artistic forms and their use to pass on environmental information and promote environmental awareness
• for public relations work and exhibitions.

Personnel costs of the grant recipient are not eligible for funding.

The application form, which is to be used voluntarily, must include

• a detailed description of the project, the scope of the project including the significance and intended impact of the measure
• the detailed calculation of the project expenditure (expenditure plan) including cost offers or comprehensible cost calculations
• an overview of the intended financing (financing plan) including an explanation of what additional funding has been applied for or granted for the project
• the list of necessary or existing approvals
• the schedules, project documents, overview plans
• for events, the planned number of event days and the expected number of participants.

Funding is limited to projects within the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in exceptional cases also to projects that are not only carried out in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern but are of particular interest to the state.

The application can be submitted informally to the granting authority.
