The Youth Office offers advice and support in the assertion of maintenance claims of children against their parents/parents.

In this context, the personal and economic circumstances of the person liable for maintenance are examined and maintenance is determined. The voluntary maintenance obligation can be certified in the Youth Office (= maintenance title).

In order to be awarded, the person liable for maintenance must give an audition and bring the following documents with him:

• Valid personnel document
• Birth certificate of the child, if available
• Calculation of the amount of maintenance to be certified by the Office for Youth, Family and Education (former Youth Office), lawyer or claim of the guardian with whom the child lives
• In the case of amending certificates: last debt instruments (deed, judgment, decision, settlement, notarial agreement)

are entitled to advice and support:

in the case of minor children:

• the sole custody parent
• in the event of joint parental custody of the parent, in which the
  the child(s) lives

in adult children:

• the adult child up to the age of 21, if he or she is in school or vocational training or is studying

The registration is free of charge.
