Law on the Promotion of Sports in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Sport Promotion Act - SportFG M-V) of September 9, 2002

Ensuring a comprehensive equal opportunity for people with disabilities in daily life, including the promotion and support of the sport of people with disabilities, are among the important educational and sports policy tasks of the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, especially in the context of the implementation of social inclusion in the sense of the gradual implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Especially in people with a handicap, sporting activities have a serious significance. They maintain and increase performance, promote self-confidence, strengthen self-confidence and thus provide effective life support.

The Association for Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports M-V e. V. (VBRS M-V) as a sports federation in close cooperation with the state government, is focused and consistent on current social and political developments in sport with a handicap at the state level. In particular, exercise, sport and play are used as an accompanying means for improving, maintaining or regaining health, as well as for strengthening self-initiative and independence within the framework of social integration/inclusion and equal participation.

The VBRS M-V advises citizens on the possibilities of physically active activity with a handicap in the leisure, wide and performance range and offers opportunities nationwide to become active in one of the currently 105 sports clubs themselves.

Membership fees are based on the statutes of the respective sports clubs.

Ensuring full equality of opportunity for people with disabilities in their daily lives, including the promotion and support of the sport of people with disabilities in the sense of the gradual implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The help telephone is used to establish contact with the national association for disabled and rehabilitation sports M-V e.V., which can provide comprehensive information on all questions of disabled sports in M-V.
