The ID card has been designed as a secure signature creation device within the meaning of Section 2 No. 10 of the Signature Act.
With the electronic signature, a digital document (contracts, applications and deeds) can be signed in a legally binding manner, which would otherwise only be legally binding in written form.
The new ID card is prepared for the use of electronic signatures. This function can be used by purchasing a signature certificate from a certified provider and storing it on the ID card.
