U examinations
Preventive and early detection examinations for children up to the age of 6 are used for the early detection of diseases that do not pose a minor threat to the child's normal physical or mental development.
U- examinations are usually performed by pediatricians and adolescents or by family doctors.
If the U3 to U9 examinations have not been taken, the parents or guardians receive a reminder from the State Office for Health and Social Affairs M-V (service point).
If, despite the reminder, a child does not take part in the U examination within the specified tolerance limits, the service office reports the relevant data to the responsible health office, stating the name of the examination that was not carried out.
Consultations with pediatricians and adolescents by the health office as part of the reminder procedure in accordance with § 15 b ÖGDG M-V
- Advice on support, help and therapy measures for infants, children and adolescents as well as coordination of measures in the event of maldevelopment and health disorders
- Offer of outreach assistance to improve participation in early detection examinations for children.
- As part of the examinations and consultations, the vaccination card can be checked and a vaccination recommendation can be made.
Adolescent health examination J 1
The purpose of the youth health examination is the early detection of diseases that pose a risk to physical, mental and social development to a not insignificant degree. In particular, it is also intended to prevent undesirable development during puberty through early detection of psychological and psychosocial risk factors. In addition, individually occurring health-endangering behaviors are to be recognized at an early stage. The adolescent is to be informed at an early stage about the health risk conveyed by this.
The adolescent health examination is usually carried out by pediatricians and adolescent physicians or by family physicians.
The State Office for Health and Social Affairs M-V (service point) works towards an increased use of the youth health examinations by informing the legal guardian and/or the legal guardian in writing about the youth health examination and encouraging the child to take part in it. This should also include information about the age-appropriate immunization services.
