A certificate of no impediment to marriage can also be issued in Germany for stateless persons, persons entitled to asylum, recognized refugees and persons whose nationality cannot be determined.
The certificate is issued by the registry office in whose jurisdiction the applicant is domiciled or habitually resident.
The certificate of no impediment to marriage is valid for a period of six months.

- and have their habitual residence in Switzerland.

An application for a certificate of no impediment to marriage is submitted to the relevant registry office.
If the examination shows that there is no impediment to the intended marriage under German law and the necessary personal details of both parties to the marriage have been provided, the registry office will issue the certificate of matrimonial capacity applied for.
