Operators of long-term storage facilities must fulfil certain requirements upon decommissioning to ensure that the facility does not pose a risk to the general public or the environment.
Experts regularly monitor compliance.
If you wish to carry out the inspection, you must apply to the competent authority to appoint you as an expert. The designation applies to the entire federal territory.
- Proof and information on the required expertise, independence, reliability and technical equipment
- Further documents may need to be provided following enquiries by the competent authority.
- Copy of the certificate as an expert. If the applicant is not recognised, the opinion of an expert committee set up by a chamber of commerce or chamber of industry and commerce to assess the expertise of an expert must be obtained.
- Certificate of good conduct (document type OG, not older than 3 months)
- Information from the central trade register (document type 9, not older than 3 months)
- You have the necessary expertise, independence, reliability and technical equipment. You have submitted the application in the country in which you have your registered office.
- If this is abroad, you must submit the application in the country in which you primarily wish to carry out this activity.
You must submit an informal application to the competent authority to be appointed as an expert for long-term storage in accordance with the Landfill Ordinance. Proceed as follows:
- Create the informal application and attach the required documents. If necessary, the authority will request further application documents.
- After examination by the competent authority, you will receive a written decision.
- The decision may be subject to revocation, a time limit, conditions, requirements and the imposition of conditions.
If you wish to work as an expert or expert for long-term storage in accordance with the Landfill Ordinance, you must be appointed by the competent authority.
