The weights and measures offices in Baden-Württemberg have weights available at various locations that you can rent for different purposes.

There are weight sets with weights of 1 kg, 2 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg as well as individual weights of 20 kg, 50 kg, 200 kg and 500 kg.

When calibrating larger industrial and truck scales, you may need to provide test weights or organise the transport of test weights and, in individual cases, the provision of a loading vehicle.

You agree to the terms and conditions of the Eich- und Beschusswesen Baden-Württemberg. You can obtain these from the verification offices before submitting your application.

The costs are based on the currently valid fee regulation of the calibration and certification system.

Apply for the rental of weights informally, usually by telephone to the responsible office.

As soon as the complete application has been received, a possible collection and return date will be agreed with you.

Notice: In certain circumstances it may be more efficient to hand over hired weights directly to the next user. This can save you time and travel distance because you do not have to return the weights to the Weights and Measures Office. The Weights and Measures Office will assist in organising the rental.

Prior agreement with the Weights and Measures Office is required for the rental of weights.

This ensures that you have sufficient weights available at the appropriate time.

If weights are returned soiled, the cost of the cleaning effort will be charged.

An action against notices or decisions of the Regional Council of Tübingen may be brought before the competent administrative court (Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Sigmaringen or Stuttgart). The time limit for filing a complaint is usually one month after notification of the notice or decision. The administrative court then decides whether the notice or decision is defective and must be changed or withdrawn.
