The Hörnbrücke is a three-part folding bridge (three-span folding bridge) that allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross the Kieler Hörn. At certain times, however, the bridge is opened (folded up) and therefore cannot be used by pedestrians or cyclists.

When the bridge is open, there is a waiting time of around 15 minutes for pedestrians and cyclists, and unscheduled bridge openings for shipping must be expected.

Please note that there are no bridge openings before the departure of the Norwegian ferries (Color Line) from 13:30 to 14:00, i.e. pedestrians or cyclists can use the bridge during this time.

Skippers who wish to have the bridge raised in order to enter or leave the Hörn should call the bridge staff 20 minutes before the intended passage on +49 431 37593922. Please note the bridge staff's working hours (Monday - Friday: 07:00 to 15:30). If you wish to open the bridge on Saturday or Sunday, you must apply to the bridge staff by 3.30 p. m. on Friday at the latest.

Use of the Hörnbrücke is free of charge.

Monday - Friday: opening on demand for shipping by appointment with the bridge staff - Tel. 0431/ 37593922 - during office hours (7.00 am - 3.30 pm)
Saturdays/Sundays: openings on demand for shipping after registration with the bridge personnel by Friday at 3.30 p.m. at the latest.
No bridge openings from 24.12.2024 up to and including 01.01.2025!
In addition, the Hörnbrücke will be opened as required to maintain trouble-free operations.
