Berufsausbildung: Überbetriebliche Ausbildung

The inter-company training usually takes place in the training centers.

Supra-company apprenticeship training (ÜLU) or supra-company training (ÜLA) refers to parts of the training that are used by trainees from different companies because the individual companies cannot provide these parts of the training themselves. Both the Vocational Training Act (BBiG) and the Crafts Regulation Act (HwO) provide for parts of vocational training to be carried out in suitable facilities outside the training centers if and to the extent required by the vocational training. Inter-company training is an integral part of vocational training in Germany.

The demands on training companies, trainers and trainees are constantly increasing, as rapid technical developments are making the subject matter more extensive and more complicated. Small and medium-sized companies in particular are therefore no longer able to impart all the specialist knowledge and technical and technological skills required by the job profile. Inter-company training supplements company-based apprenticeships and thus relieves the burden on companies.

The inter-company apprenticeship training courses are occupation-specific, practical courses. They are usually held in the training centers of the craft organizations. The costs are borne by the training companies themselves and reduced by subsidies from the state and federal government.

Participation in all mandatory courses is part of the vocational training. Only those who have successfully completed them will be admitted to the final or journeyman's examination. All courses defined as mandatory by the general assembly of the respective professional chamber are compulsory.

• the Chamber of Lawyers, Patent Attorneys and Notaries as well as the Notary's Office for the vocational training of specialists in the field of law,
• the Chamber of Auditors and the Chamber of Tax Consultants for the vocational training of professionals in the field of auditing and tax consultancy,
• the Chambers of Physicians, Dentists, Veterinarians and Pharmacists for the vocational training of healthcare professionals.

Other responsibilities, e.g. for bodies in the public sector, churches and other religious communities, are regulated in Sections 72 - 75 of the Federal Training Act (BBiG).
