Bundeswehr und THW: Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung

If the Bundeswehr or THW are economically active, they require a clearance certificate.

In principle, the Bundeswehr and the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) are prohibited from working in the commercial sector, as competition with the commercial sector is undesirable.

If, in exceptional cases, economic services are to be provided (e.g. in the form of auxiliary services), these require a certificate from the responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and/or Chamber of Crafts (HWK) that the work will not have any economically detrimental or adverse effects on commercial enterprises (clearance certificate).

Economic services can be, for example

• Serving meals at public festivals,
• Renting out tents,
• transportation services,
• crane work,
• helicopter flights,
• tree felling,
• dismantling work,
• blasting of ruins.

• Type and purpose of the intended measure or assignment,
• Place of deployment,
• Duration of the measure,
• Name of the organization carrying out the measure, which local group,
• Reasons why no commercial company is suitable for the measure,
• Full address of the applicant with contact details in case of queries.
