Any person who collects, collects or transports animal by-products on a commercial basis must notify the competent authority.

Anyone who collects, collects or transports animal by-products on a commercial basis must notify the competent authority of his establishment before commencing his activity (§ 7 Animal By-Products Disposal Ordinance).

Prior approval is required for establishments or establishments where animal by-products are temporarily stored (storage plants), treated (intermediate plants), processed (processing plants, fat processing plants) or disposed of (incineration and co-incineration plants) (Articles 10-14 of EC Regulation No 1774/2002).

Exemptions are required for certain other uses of animal by-products (§ 4 Animal By-Products Disposal Act).

They must notify the competent authority of the establishment with animal by-products, specifying:

• your name,
• Your address and the
• animal by-products intended to be transported,

indicate. Further documents may be requested. Therefore, it is recommended to contact the competent authority in advance.

The permit is subject to a fee. The fees are determined according to the respective cost or fee schedule. Further information can be obtained from the competent authority.

The official approval must take place before the start of the activity.

• To the districts or independent cities (veterinary offices, official veterinarians), provided that the material concerned is category 3 within the meaning of Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 1774/2002.
• In all other cases to the Ministry of Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature of the State of Schleswig-Holstein (MEKUN).
