§ Section 10 of the Plant Protection Act (PflSchG)

Anyone wishing to use plant protection products for others or provide commercial advice on the use of plant protection products must notify the competent authority.

The obligation to notify exists if you want to use plant protection products for others or if you want to advise other people on the use of plant protection products as part of a commercial enterprise. The use of plant protection products in the context of occasional neighborly assistance is not subject to notification.

According to the Plant Protection Act (PflSchG), the use of plant protection products is only permitted to persons who have the necessary specialist knowledge and skills. Persons who use plant protection products in an agricultural, horticultural or forestry business must therefore provide proof of their plant protection expertise.

The competent authority must also be notified before commencing work if plant protection products are to be placed on the market or imported for commercial purposes or as part of other economic activities. This also requires a certificate of competence for the supply of plant protection products.

Every point of sale of plant protection products must register with the competent state authority at the place of business and the place of activity.

• Notification form (form for the notification of activities for commercial use and advice as well as for trade in plant protection products), as well as
• a copy of the certificate of competence regarding the required technical knowledge and skills in handling plant protection products.

The plant protection examination is subject to a fee. Detailed information on this can be obtained from the competent authority.

The notification of the above-mentioned activities is free of charge.

The activities must be reported to the competent authority before commencement.
