Certain building projects do not require planning permission under the state building regulations for Schleswig-Holstein, but must be notified.
Certain building projects are exempt from approval in accordance with Section 62 (1) of the State Building Regulations for Schleswig-Holstein (LBO), but are subject to notification.
A building project can only be exempt from approval if the requirements for exemption from approval in accordance with Section 62 (2) of the State Building Regulations for Schleswig-Holstein (LBO) are met.
Special buildings (§ 51 LBO) as well as building projects where there is a risk of proximity to a hazardous incident or where the municipality transfers the procedure to a simplified building permit procedure in accordance with § 63 LBO are generally exempt from the permit exemption.

If deviations, exceptions or exemptions are required in accordance with Section 31 of the German Building Code (BauGB), construction work may only begin once the written application to be submitted has been approved.
