Gefährliche Wildtiere: Ausnahme vom Haltungsverbot

The competent authority may allow exceptions to the ban on the non-commercial keeping of dangerous wild animals.

In Schleswig-Holstein, the non-commercial keeping of a dangerous animal of a wild species is prohibited.

Dangerous animals are those which, when fully grown, can cause serious injury to humans through physical strength, venom or behavior and are generally dangerous by their nature regardless of individual characteristics (e.g. predators, poisonous snakes, reptiles, amphibians, poisonous spiders and scorpions).

The competent authority may grant exceptions to the ban on keeping animals.

• Proof of origin of the animals,
• Proof of the necessity of keeping the animals.

The application for exemption from the ban on keeping must be submitted to the competent authority before the start of keeping.
