Scientific research projects in schools (studies, surveys, test series and similar) require approval.

Scientific research projects in schools (studies, surveys, test series and similar) require approval. This can be granted if the project demonstrates a significant scientific interest with regard to the educational mission of the school and the burden on the school remains within reasonable limits.

• A description of the project (including the concept, name of the responsible project manager, name of any partners involved, information on the specific procedure of the project)
• The survey documents such as questionnaires, interview guidelines, test documents, letters to the participants and, if applicable, letters to the parents or legal guardians to obtain consent for the participation of underage pupils. The survey documents must clearly state the purpose of the project, the reference to voluntary participation, the handling of the survey documents as intended by the applicant and their final whereabouts as well as the procedure of the project.
• Information on the time schedule and the expected scope of the project.
• An overview of the schools/classes in which the project is to be carried out.

The application for approval must be submitted in good time before the start of the intended project.

To the Ministry of General and Vocational Education, Science, Research and Culture (MBWFK).

The application must be made in writing.
