Förderung „STEP“ für das Coaching von Schülerinnen und Schüler mit Fokus auf den Erwerb eines Schulabschlusses beantragen

If you are an educational institution that offers coaching for pupils in the transition from school to work, you can apply for funding under certain conditions.

The "STEP action plan" (self-assessment, training, development, prospects) is an integral part of Schleswig-Holstein's labor market program (2021-2027). It supports educational institutions that provide pupils with targeted coaching for their first general and intermediate school-leaving certificate and career entry.

As an educational institution, you can take advantage of the funding if you coach pupils in flexible transition phases in accordance with the Schleswig-Holstein School Act (examination for the first general school-leaving certificate (ESA) after 3 years) or with special educational needs.

Your coaches take on the following tasks:

• Individual support and advice for participants
• Support with career orientation and preparation
• Promoting skills to facilitate entry into the job market
• Helping to overcome barriers that stand in the way of integration into the primary labor market

By integrating these target groups into the primary labor market, you counteract the shortage of skilled workers. You also promote self-determined social participation in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

You can receive funding for direct personnel costs for project coordination, coaching specialists or project management.

Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant with a maximum funding limit. The maximum funding amount is 98% of the total eligible expenditure (ESF Plus and state funds).

You can receive funding amounting to 30 percent of the direct personnel costs for your indirect costs, overheads or material costs.

• You must be an educational institution outside the state administration based in Schleswig-Holstein.
• As an educational institution, you must have AZAV certification (Accreditation and Approval Ordinance for Employment Promotion).
• They must not already receive funding for the transition from school to work.
• You need a good network in the individual districts and independent cities for the regional planning and implementation of the projects.
• As an educational institution, you must contribute at least 2 percent of the total eligible expenditure to the funding.

If you would like to submit your application online:

• You submit your application on the service portal of the state of Schleswig-Holstein under Funding application HK STEP.
• Your organization will need a service account on the Schleswig-Holstein service portal and an ELSTER organization certificate. The latter is used to authenticate your organization's service account.
• The submitted project applications are evaluated by an expert jury consisting of representatives of the ministry responsible for the funding call and Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein as the approval authority on the basis of a scoring model and confirmed by the ministry.
• Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein approves your application or initially grants an early start of the measure due to the short-term start of the project. Granting an early start does not result in a legal entitlement to funding. The project may not be started without a grant notification or the granting of an early start, otherwise funding is excluded.

If you wish to submit the application in writing in exceptional cases:

• You request the project application from Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein at foerderprogramme@ib-sh.de.
• You submit the project application in paper form.
• You also send the project application including all attachments in one coherent PDF file to lpa-belege@ib-sh.de.

The Danish minority in Schleswig-Holstein and learning workshops can also be taken into account.

To fulfill the reporting obligations to the EU, a data protection-compliant monitoring procedure is used to measure the effectiveness of the funding.

You must provide information about EU support on your website and in social media, documents and communication material.

The Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein is expected to notify you of the funding decision in June 2024.
