If you want to go fishing or angling, you must pay a fishing tax online or on site per calendar year

If you want to fish or go fishing in Schleswig-Holstein, you must pay a fishing tax every year. You can pay the fishing tax on site (at the competent authority) or via the online service of the supreme fishing authority.

You must affix the fishing tax stamps to the fishing license issued by the state of Schleswig-Holstein or to a completed proof sheet before you start fishing. Proof of the fishing tax from the online procedure must be printed out or submitted as an electronic certificate.

In the following cases, you do not have to pay a fishing tax as no fishing license is required: in pond farms, in special fishing production facilities, in small private waters. This also applies to persons who fish in coastal waters on the basis of inter- or supranationally agreed access rights and to persons who fish together with the persons entitled to fish or persons entitled to exercise fishing rights or their assistants who hold a fishing license.

You must be at least 12 years old

• Log in to the SH online service portal
• Search for "Fishing documents Schleswig-Holstein" and select the administrative service fishing levy
• Now select the desired periods (calendar year(s))
• Enter your personal data, address details and, if applicable, contact details
• Check your details and confirm them
• Now enter your payment information and confirm the payment
• You will then receive electronic proof of payment of the fishing levy (by e-mail if applicable)

The vacation fishing license already includes the fishing tax, no separate payment required.

• Fishing levy payment
  • Digital: the fee can be paid via the online service of the supreme fishing authority
  • On site: Payment (purchase of a tax stamp) in branch offices of the supreme fishing authority or in all public order and citizens' offices as well as in some port offices in Schleswig-Holstein
• Proof of payment of the fishing tax
  • Digital: Once payment has been received, the verification document is sent via the online procedure
  • On site: Direct issue of the fishing stamp
