If you wish to make significant changes to or in surface waters or an existing facility or construct a facility, you must apply for a permit from the responsible lower water authority.

If you wish to construct a facility or make significant changes to an existing facility in, above, below, over or on surface waters, you can apply for a permit from the water authority. Installations can be: dams, bridges, crossings, culverts, watercourse crossings with supply/supply lines, construction measures on watercourses, pipeline routes parallel to watercourses, bank reinforcements and property enclosures, footbridges, embankments or land filling/removal.

Installations can be

• Dams,
• bridge,
• crossing,
• culvert,
• watercourse crossing with supply/disposal line,
• Construction work on the watercourse,
• pipeline route parallel to the watercourse,
• Bank reinforcements and property enclosures,
• footbridge,
• management or land filling/removal.

- Declaration of consent from the landowner, if applicable

- Declaration of consent from the water and soil association, if applicable

The application is free of charge. There may be a fee for the administrative procedure, which is charged upon completion of the approval process. In most cases, the fee for companies and private individuals is €50.
