Einwohner*innenfragestunde

Residents of a municipality or town have the right to ask questions and make proposals or suggestions at public meetings of the municipal or town council during residents' question time on items under discussion or other matters relating to the local community. The same applies to the public meetings of the district councils and district committees for matters relating to the district or office.

The committees of the above-mentioned bodies can also hold residents' question and answer sessions.

The committees regulate the conduct of question time in their respective rules of procedure. As a rule, questions can also be submitted in writing before the meeting.

Upon request, proof of residency must be provided, for example by presenting an identity card or passport and a registration certificate.

There are no fees.

• In municipalities and towns administered on a voluntary basis, to the mayor,
• in full-time municipalities and cities, to the mayor or city president,
• in the districts to the district president,
• in the offices to the head of the office.
