A change of school takes place through admission to a new school relationship at the new school and termination of the existing school relationship at the previous school. An application for admission to the new school must first be submitted for an intended change of school.
In the case of a change of school within Schleswig-Holstein, it should be noted:
If there is no longer compulsory schooling, the school relationship with the previous school can be terminated by deregistering from the previous school.
If, on the other hand, compulsory schooling is still in force, an application must be made to the previous school to terminate the school relationship. The application itself does not terminate the school relationship. The requested dismissal can only be issued by the previous school if it is proven that the student will continue to attend the new school.
Note: Full-time and compulsory vocational schooling apply, so that the statutory compulsory schooling - if there is no training relationship - lasts until the end of the school semester until the pupil reaches the age of majority.
