The state monitors the manufacture of and trade in medicinal products from the pharmaceutical industry to wholesalers, pharmacies and retailers in Schleswig-Holstein. It also focuses on the clinical testing of medicinal products, blood donation in accordance with the Transfusion Act and the monitoring of the regulations of the Transplantation Act in conjunction with the Medicinal Products Act with regard to tissues and tissue preparations.
