The Kiel Pass is a discount card with which financially weaker Kiel residents can participate in Kiel's cultural life at discounted prices. Kielers can receive the Kiel Pass if they receive the following benefits:
- Unemployment benefit II (according to SGB II),
- Social money (according to SGB II),
- Assistance for subsistence (according to SGB XII),
- Basic security in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity (according to SGB XII),
- Housing subsidy
- benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act,
- cash amount for personal disposal during a stay in an inpatient facility (according to § 35 Abs. 2 SGB XII) or
- Child supplement (according to § 6a Federal Child Benefit Act).
With the Kiel Pass you get a variety of discounts in Kiel and the surrounding area. A list of possible discounts, new offers and an information flyer can be found on the following website of the Kiel Pass Office.
You will receive a certificate from the municipal office where you receive the aforementioned services or you will have your current approval notice.With this certificate or your current approval notice, you will go to the Kiel Pass office.
There, a photo of you will be taken and you will receive your personal Kiel Pass. Your picture and name will appear on the Kiel Pass. It is valid until the end of the approval period, but no longer than one year from the date of issue of the certificate.
The Kiel Pass is not renewed, but is always reissued after its validity has expired.
