In the state capital Kiel, as the owner of a motor vehicle with CO2 emissions of up to 100 g/km (from 01.03.2017, previously up to 120g/km), you can park in publicly dedicated and managed parking spaces for a limited period of time at a reduced price or free of charge. The same applies to owners of vehicles with electric drive that are provided with the special vehicle license plates provided for this purpose.
The CO2 emissions of your motor vehicle result from the vehicle registration document (registration certificate Part I, field V.7) or from the so-called EEC certificate of conformity or a separate certificate from manufacturers or general importers related to the vehicle.
In addition, reports from officially recognized motor vehicle experts or recognized motor vehicle test engineers also provide information about the CO2 emissions of a motor vehicle. One of these proofs must be submitted.
The "Free Parking Badge" is only valid in connection with the applicable parking fee ordinance of the state capital Kiel and the limit value for CO² emissions specified therein.
