§ 41 Ordinance on Installations for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV)

Then you need to submit an application for a suitability assessment.
For the issue of an aptitude test for a facility for the storage, filling or handling of substances hazardous to water an application must be submitted in accordance with the Water Resources Act.
The application for a suitability assessment must be accompanied by the documents required to prove suitability.
At the request of the competent authority, the application must be accompanied by an expert opinion.
Test certificates and expert opinions from test bodies or experts approved in other Member States of the European Union and other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area shall also be deemed to be evidence if the requirements for testing the installation are equivalent to those under this Ordinance; Section 52 (2) sentences 2 and 3 AwSV shall apply mutatis mutandis to the test certificates and expert opinions. You can apply in writing or online via the relevant online service for a suitability assessment for a facility for the storage, filling or handling of substances hazardous to water.
After you have submitted the application:
- the authority checks the application documents; requests additional documents if necessary and involves any affected bodies
- the applicant submits additional documents and the bodies concerned submit their comments
- the authority checks subsequently submitted documents and comments received
- the authority issues the suitability assessment on the basis of the checked and, if necessary, supplemented application documents, provided there are no grounds for refusal
- the applicant receives the suitability assessment
- the applicant pays the administrative fee
