If you have been entered in the Register of Craftsmen with your craft requiring a license, you will receive a craft card as proof.

You must be entered in the Register of Craftsmen if you wish to work independently in a craft requiring a license in Germany. This also applies if you only want to carry out a significant part of a craft requiring a license on a self-employed basis.

Registration in the Register of Craftsmen is possible for

• natural persons and partnerships and

• legal entities.

The Chamber of Skilled Crafts issues a certificate of registration in the form of a skilled crafts card. The following is noted on the craftsman's card

• Name and address of the owner,

• place of business,

• the craft requiring a license to be operated or the crafts requiring a license to be operated,

• Date of registration,

• name of the company management.

You do not have to renew the craft card annually, as it remains valid until the data provided changes or is deleted.
