A start-up with an innovative business model can receive a grant of up to 36,000 euros for a maximum of one year through the Starter Stipendium Saar. A monthly grant of 1,500 euros can be awarded per person.

Funding is provided for the company's personnel and material costs. The funding can also be used for the founder's living expenses.The funding is intended to support the market entry of the company's product or service.The company and the founder must have their place of business or residence in Saarland.

The application procedure for the Starter Stipendium Saar is a 3-step process.

• The application form and the cost and financing plan must be submitted by post to the MWIDE by the deadline for the application round at the latest. The date will be announced on the homepage of the Saarland Offensive für Gründung
• (SOG) website.
• The responsible office will check the application for basic eligibility. Additional documents are requested for the second stage of the procedure (sample documents).
• Once the additional documents have been checked, the applicant is invited to a pitch. This pitch represents the third and final stage of the application process.
• After the pitch has been evaluated by a jury, a decision is made on the approval of the grant.
• The grant or rejection notification is sent in writing.
• The funding period is usually one year.
