Ausbildungsförderung Bewilligung

Educational support enables young people to complete a school or university education that matches their abilities and interests, regardless of their social and economic situation.

You will receive support for your living expenses and for your education (need). If you are in need, the amount of the grant depends on your income and assets and - as the grant is generally family-dependent - on the income of your parents and spouse or registered partner.

General requirements:

• German citizen
• foreign citizen depending on residence status
• maximum 29 years old
• Your performance as a trainee suggests that you will achieve the training objective
• Proof of a need for support for living expenses and training

Depending on the type of training support, further requirements may apply.

There are no fees.

Training assistance under the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) enables young people to complete a school or university education that matches their abilities and interests, regardless of their social and economic situation.

The required forms are available from the offices for educational support and can also be printed out from the BMBF website.
