Would you like to operate a betting centre (betting office) in the Free State of Saxony? In addition to a business licence , a gambling permit is requiredfor proper operation.

Business registration and the issue of a confirmation of receipt do not authorise the brokerage of sports betting. The licence under gambling law to operate a betting agency (betting office) in the Free State of Saxony exists in parallel to the notification and approval requirements under commercial law, building law and, if applicable, other public law requirements and does not replace these.

The licence to broker sports bets in betting agencies must be applied for at by the sports betting organiser with whom the sports betting brokers (wish to) cooperate.

The required documents are listed in the application form.

In order to be granted a licence, the sports betting operator to whom the sports betting is to be brokered must have a licence to organise sports betting in Germany. This is issued by the Joint Gambling Authority of the federal states.

Further requirements are

• the operator's reliability under gambling law
• no grounds for refusal
• Fulfilment of obligations
• no violation of distance to a general education school
• no gaming arcade in the same building/building complex

Fee range: EUR 200.00 to EUR 550.00

You can apply for a licence under gambling law at the competent authority (see -> Competent authority). To do so, use the online service in Amt24 (see -> Online application).

To do this, set up a service account in Amt24 and use it to log in to the service portal. Have electronic copies of the required documents ready.

• Follow the link to the online service(see -> Onlineapplication) and fill in the data fields according to the instructions. You can save the information at any time and complete it at a later date.
• Upload the required documents(see -> Required documents).
• Once all data fields have been completed, finalise the application and the data will be sent to the responsible office.
• You will find the application confirmation in the inbox of your service account. You will receive a notification of incoming messages to your personal e-mail address.

If you are unable to use the online service, forms are available at (see -> Forms and other services). Submit the signed application together with the required documents in paper form to the competent authority.

Authorisation will be granted or the application rejected by the competent authority .
