Chambers of skilled crafts represent the interests of the entire skilled crafts sector in a chamber district. They have the task of promoting the companies in the region and supporting their interests through self-administration.

If you are self-employed in a non-essential activity of a craft requiring a licence, which quantitatively accounts for the majority of your commercial activity and is carried out in the form of a craft business, and if you have completed journeyman's training in a craft requiring a licence, the training content of which has prepared you for the activity carried out, you are a compulsory member of the Chamber of Crafts.

By law, you must apply for entry in the register of persons when you start your commercial activity. As soon as you are a member of the Chamber of Crafts, you can use the offers and services of your Chamber of Crafts.

• Copy of identity card or comparable identification document
• copy of business registration (can be submitted after registration)

• Independent exercise of a non-essential activity of a craft requiring a licence.
• In quantitative terms, this activity accounts for the majority of commercial activity and is carried out in the form of a craft business.
• The applicant has completed a journeyman's training course in a craft requiring a licence, the content of which has prepared them for the activity carried out. Certain preparatory training measures that essentially correspond to a completed journeyman's training programme are deemed equivalent.

After a successful application, the Chamber of Crafts records the applicant in the register.
