If you would like to work as a psychosocial trial counsellor in criminal proceedings in the Free State of Saxony, you must apply to the Sächsisches Staatsministerium der Justiz und für Demokratie, Europa und Gleichstellung to be recognised as a psychosocial trial counsellor.
If you have already been recognised as a psychosocial trial counsellor in another federal state, this is equivalent to recognition in the Free State of Saxony and you do not need to submit a separate application to work in Saxony.
Recognition is limited to five years in accordance with the provisions of the SächsPsychPbGAG. After that, a new application for recognition must be submitted.
There are five regional court districts in Saxony:
- Landgericht Chemnitz
- Landgericht Dresden
- Landgericht Görlitz
- Landgericht Leipzig
- Landgericht Zwickau
With the application, you specify in which of the five regional court districts of Saxony you wish to work ("örtlicher Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt"). The local centre of activity should not include more than three regional court districts. On the one hand, this is intended to ensure that, in the event of an assignment, the accompanist comes from the immediate vicinity, but on the other hand, the assignment in several regional court districts enables the court accompanists to focus on certain groups of victims or types of offences ("sachlicher Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt").

In accordance with Section 3 (3), (4) and (5) PsychPbG, you must continue to ensure on your own responsibility
