Application for recognition of a foreign professional qualification as a career qualification in accordance with § 20 of the Saxon Civil Service Act (SächsBG) in conjunction with §§ 12 ff. Saxon Career Ordinance (SächsLVO)
Professional qualifications are qualifications evidenced by training certificates or relevant professional experience. If you have acquired your qualification in a legal profession in another EU member state, EEA contracting state or a state equated by agreement, it can be recognised as equivalent to a career qualification upon application.
The prerequisite for recognition is that the qualification does not differ significantly from the qualification required for a career in the Free State of Saxony. You can compensate for substantial differences up to a certain extent by taking an adaptation course or an aptitude test.
You are entitled to an examination to determine whether your professional qualification can be recognised for one of the following specialisations and focuses in the Free State of Saxony:
- Judicial officer / Judicial constable
- Judicial clerk
- Bailiff
- Public prosecutor
- Graduate in public administration (in the prison service)
- Civil servant in the general prison service
Recognition of professional qualifications does not constitute an entitlement to recruitment. Recruitment takes place only if the requirements under civil service law and budgetary law are met and taking into account the applicants' aptitude, qualifications and professional performance.
