Upon request, the insolvency court shall issue a certificate stating that no insolvency proceedings are or were pending or that an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings has not been filed or has been rejected for lack of assets (so-called negative certificate). The negative certificate serves as proof of orderly economic circumstances to other bodies, for example under Section 34c (2) of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung).

You can apply for the negative certificate online in Amt24.
Set up a service account in Amt24 for identification and authentication and use it to log in to the service portal. Have electronic copies of the required documents ready.
- Follow the link to the online application and fill in the data fields according to the instructions. You can save the information at any time and complete it later.
- Once all data fields have been filled in and the listed documents have been compiled, complete the application and the data will be sent to the competent office.
- You will find the application confirmation in the inbox of your service account. For incoming messages, you will receive a notification to your personal e-mail address.
If you cannot use the online services, submit a written application with the required documents. If necessary, use the available forms of the insolvency court.
