Duty to provide health counselling according to § 10 Prostitution Protection Act (ProstSchG)
Health counselling of sex workers serves to protect persons engaged in prostitution. Without proof of the counselling, the prescribed registration is not possible. The contents of health counselling are:
- disease prevention
- contraception and pregnancy
- risks of alcohol and drug use
Compulsory counselling is stipulated in the Prostitution Protection Act (ProstG); it is independent of the anonymous counselling and examination options according to § 19 of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG).
Make an appointment with the counselling centre. If available for your location, use the online registration via Amt24 (see -> Online application and forms).
After the individual health counselling by the health office, you will receive a certificate with which you can register with the public order office. This certificate contains:
- the first and last name of the person being counselled
- the date of birth of the person being counseled
- the issuing office
- the date of the health counselling
Note: The initial certificate is valid for three months. Within this period, registration with the public order office must take place.
