To be recognised as a training organiser for the training of dangerous goods safety advisors, you must submit an application to the local Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

The IHK can carry out the on-site inspection and also inspect the teaching material and contact the teaching staff in order to arrange appointments for supplementary assessment interviews if necessary.

The application to be submitted must include the following in addition to the scope of recognition (road transport, inland navigation, rail transport, maritime transport):

Educational curriculum/sample teaching plan (timetable) including:

• Schedule of lessons (with breaks)
• topic to be covered including the planned time allotments
• Type of instruction (for example lecture, instructional discussion, technical media, film lecture, exercises)

Documents of the teachers as proof of suitability

• professional background
• Proof of general knowledge of dangerous goods transport law
• Proof of special knowledge for the respective training parts
• Proof of competence in imparting knowledge in an adult-oriented manner
• Presentation of a valid training certificate for the mode(s) of transport to be trained
• Declaration of willingness to act as a lecturer

If applicable, you may need further documents as specified by your IHK.

Procedural fee: Calculation according to the fee schedule of the IHK

After you have submitted an application for recognition as a training organiser to your local Chamber of Industry and Commerce,

• the IHK checks the submitted documents (curricula, teaching material)
• if necessary, an on-site inspection of the premises takes place
• if necessary, assessment interviews are held with the teaching personnel

After a successful review, the IHK will send you a notification of recognition. This will indicate the modes of transport for which you are permitted to conduct training.

Examination of the documents: about three weeks

Note: Conducting an assessment interview with the teachers may lead to a longer processing time if necessary.
