In order to apply for the licence, you must first attend the IHK's catering training course. This acts as proof of training in food law.
The catering training course teaches the basic principles of food and hygiene regulations, for example
- hygiene regulations
- food law
- beer, wine and milk law
- beverage systems
Note: You can be exempted from the catering training on request if you have acquired the content of the training as part of a state-recognised vocational training course with an examination by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
You must register for the training at the IHK.
- The training is organised by the IHK and lasts approximately 45 hours.
- You will receive the certificate following the training.
- The certificate must be presented when applying for a catering licence.
They usually receive their training certificate directly or a few days after the successful examination.
