In an emergency, the control centres of the authorities and organisations with security tasks (BOS) receive requests for assistance via nationwide standardised call numbers. They alert the rescue stations and, if necessary, other facilities and personnel of the rescue service. They direct and monitor the operations of the ambulances, emergency ambulances, emergency ambulances and other rescue vehicles deployed in the rescue service area.

In the Free State of Saxony, there are only joint control centres of the fire brigade and the rescue service for emergency operations.

• is confused or disoriented and needs care
• requires acute psychological care
• has an infectious notifiable disease
• has a high-risk pregnancy
• is about to give birth

The costs for a patient transport are variable.

Requests for assistance are always directed to the control centres via the nationwide numbers, depending on the request.
