You can apply for a grant in the Free State of Saxony for the practical training period in a midwife practice or a midwife-led facility.

You can apply for a grant in the Free State of Saxony for the practical training period in a midwife practice or a midwife-led facility.
Who is eligible for support?
Freelance midwives who carry out their training in a midwife practice or a midwife-led facility in Saxony.
What is funded?
The practical training of a midwife-to-be is funded.

EUR 20.00 per training day, maximum EUR 1,200

Notes:
- Interruption of training (e.g. due to illness) is not funded.
- There is no legal entitlement to this funding.
- Permission to use the professional title,
- Authorisation to train by the State Office for Schools and Education, and
- Cooperation agreement between the school and the midwife in training
- practical training of at least six weeks and a maximum of zwölf weeks
- Training is carried out by a midwife working freelance in Saxony or in a midwife-led facility in Saxony
- the midwife providing the training is authorised to provide training by the competent authority (Saxon Education Agency)
- The midwife providing the training has a cooperation agreement with the vocational school or training centre
In the first step, take advantage of the advisory services offered by the SAB.
- You can obtain the necessary forms and fact sheets online here via Amt24 or directly from the SAB.
- Fill out the application and submit it to the SAB with the required documents and evidence.
- After the SAB has checked your application, you will receive written notification of whether and to what extent your application has been approved.
Payment
- For disbursement, the SAB requires the advisory report, the advisory contract, the original invoice and the proof of payment.
- After the review of the proof of use, you will receive the grant as a one-off payment to the account you specified.
Application: at the latest one month before the start of the midwifery externship or the observation
