Provision of online information from the population register in accordance with § 49 of the Bundesmeldegesetz

You can obtain information about a person you are looking for via an online enquiry from the Saxon Register of Residents (SMR).

An active registration database is available for your searches, which goes back up to five years. As a result, you will receive the following official information on the person you are looking for:

First names with labelling of the common first name

• Surnames
• Doctorate
• Current addresses
• if the person is deceased, this fact

Competent authority

• Sächsisches Melderegister (SMR)
  Sächsische Anstalt für kommunale Datenverarbeitung (SAKD)

Proof of identity for registration:

• ID, copy (front and back),
• Entry in an official register, copy (e.g. commercial register) or
• Notarisation of the signature

Mandatory information for an online registration register enquiry is at least a first name, the surname or a former surname of the person sought and either an address or two further pieces of data.

The two further pieces of data are optional:

• Religious name
• stage name
• date of birth
• Place of birth and, if born abroad, also the country
• Gender
• First name and surname of the legal representative
• Date of moving in to an address
• Date of moving out to an address
• Marital status
• Date and place of marriage or civil partnership (if married or civil partnered abroad, also state)
• First name and surname of the spouse or civil partner
• Date of death
• Place of death (if death occurs abroad, also state)

Please note! The data "gender" and "marital status" may not be used together! Furthermore, information from the population register is only possible if the identity of the person concerned has been clearly established and there is no information block or conditional blocking notice for them.
You may not use the information for advertising or address trading purposes unless the person concerned has expressly consented to the transmission for this purpose.

Information from the active population register:

• Simple information from the population register (up to ten search profiles per order): EUR 3.80
• If no or no clear identification of the person searched for was possible or no information could be provided (neutral answer): EUR 0.76

Information from the database for separate storage:

• EUR 15.00

• A minimum fee of EUR 3.80 will also be charged if the subsequent search does not lead to an address enquiry.
• If you have requested further processing of your application by the local registration authority, additional fees will be charged.

Registration / Login

In order to use the online information service, you must first register. To do this, please complete the form provided and add your proof of identity. Send the registration application by post to the office indicated.

Once your registration application has been checked, the necessary login details will be sent to you.

Note: Anonymous enquiries are no longer possible.

Online registration information

• Select "Login for private users" in the electronic population register and follow the instructions. (Link to the online procedure also here in Amt24)
• You will receive a written notification of the amount of the administrative fees.

Written information

In the event that no information can be provided about the person you are looking for for legal or factual reasons, you can request that your request for information be forwarded to the local registration authority by the SAKD so that they can check your request for information.
