Application for a scholarship according to the Federal Guidelines on the Promotion of the Gifted in Vocational Education and Training for Young Graduates of Vocational Training
As a young professional talent, you can receive financial support for your further professional qualification with a further education scholarship. The SBB - Foundation for the Promotion of the Gifted in Vocational Education and Training advises and accompanies you through the application process.
Funding is available for subject-specific and interdisciplinary further education of your choice. Under certain conditions, funding is also available for extra-occupational studies. If you are accepted into the funding programme, you can access up to EUR 6,000.00 over a maximum period of three years - with an own contribution of ten percent per funding measure.
- Graduation in a recognised training occupation
- Final vocational examination with an overall result of at least 87 points or an average grade of 1.9 or better or
- 1st to 3rd place in a supra-regional vocational performance competition or
- a reasoned proposal from the employer or the vocational school
You must be younger than 25 years of age for admission to the programme. By taking into account, among other things, basic military or civilian service, parental leave, admission can also take place up to three years later. There is no entitlement to admission.
In the first step, take advantage of the advice provided by the SBB Foundation for the Promotion of Gifted Students in Vocational Education and Training, which will support you in compiling your application documents and in contacting the relevant office. Find out beforehand on the SBB portal whether you meet the requirements.
Submission
- as a graduate in a training occupation under the Vocational Training Act or the Handicrafts Code: via the chamber or the office where your training relationship is registered
- as a graduate in a specialist occupation in the health sector regulated by federal law: directly to the SBB
Application deadline
- for occupations according to the Vocational Training Act or the Crafts Code: determined by the respective chamber or other competent body (please inform yourself there)
- for health professions regulated by federal law: 15.02 of each year
