Application for a fishing licence in accordance with Section 20 of the Saxon Fishing Act (SächsFischG)
If you practise fishing, you must have a fishing licence and carry it with you when fishing. The fishing licence is issued on application and is generally valid for life.
For young people without a licence
a youth fishing licence can be issued. From the age of 14, young people with a certificate of competence can apply for a fishing licence for life.
People with disabilities
can apply for a special fishing licence without a certificate of competence. The prerequisite is a severely disabled person's pass with the H mark or proof of a mental disability of 50% or more.
Persons without German citizenship
can obtain a guest fishing licence for the duration of their holiday in the Free State of Saxony (valid for one month) without having to take the certificate of competence test on presentation of a foreign fishing licence.
You can claim the following benefits with the application:
- Acquisition of a fishing licence for life
- Acquisition of a youth fishing licence
- Acquisition or extension of a special fishing licence for people with disabilities (H licence plate or mental disability from 50%)
- Acquisition of a guest fishing licence
- New copy of a fishing licence, e.g. in the event of loss or change of details (subject to a fee)
- Confirmation of possession of a Saxon fishing licence, e.g. for the issue of a fishing licence in other federal states (subject to a fee)
Note:
- With the fishing licence, you can fish with a hand-held fishing rod in all federal states.
- If you fish with a hand-held fishing rod at managed facilities, you do not need a fishing licence, provided the facility owner meets certain requirements.
